Feels Like A New Room!

Travis has hated our bedroom set ever since we moved here and thrown around the idea of a new one. The other set we bought 12 years ago and moved it to California and back to Utah, so yes it has been loved but is still solid and in good shape. (It's on KSL if you know anyone looking) I found this set about a year ago and have been watching for sales and deals on it and they finally came. Besides a huge sale price, the guy dropped it even more. So now you see how beautiful it is and how nice it looks in our bedroom. I love it! If I keep telling Travis that he might make me take it back, JK.

With the TV on the wall, it all worked out great. Beautiful, spacious, and efficient. Doesn't get much better than that.

Scrap-Freaks

So Tanya sends me this email about a Kit of the Month and I pass it on to Diane and the next thing we know we have our alarms set for 8:30am on New Years Day so we can log in and buy this kit, of course we have to be talking to each other while we are doing it. We are half asleep trying to get in on this thing and it is crazy, keeps shutting us out, logging us out, whatever. We keep trying and finally after us both trying for about 35 minutes Diane finally gets the job done and orders us each one. We get to looking online for the next few days and it is a cat fight over the internet. There were ladies writting in about trying to order the WHOLE DAY and no luck in getting one. The website was not ready for the high volume of crazy scrapbooking ladies to order this kit and they only had 4000 made. So the people that couldn't get one were ticked and letting everyone on Becky Higgins blog know. Then I get a link from Diane from ebay and low and behold there are like 5 to 7 kits on ebay. The "buy it now" kit was going for $255, yes, two hundred and fifty five dollars. We got ours for $40 including shipping. This goes to show that a crazy scrapbooker will go to the end of the world and back for the perfect kit. It really IS a cool kit but we were pretty sure that after five more minutes of trying to buy it with no luck, we were going to forget it and move on with our day. But lucky for us we have this awesome kit that we get to fill this whole year with beautiful and unique pictures. Not to rub it in or anything...

Travis couldn't find any snow pants so he made his own. I was so proud to say I was his wife. FYI- It's a garbage bag, he doesn't like to have a wet butt.

Christmas Week Catch-Up

We always make cookie houses, a family tradition that I had and always loved doing so we have continued on. As the kids have gotten bigger the houses have gotten to be fewer but always better because they all seem to work together to help the younger ones. Love that.

Isaac's beauty!

This is REALLY gross I know but you all should know what Sab went through. She had to have her two K-9's exposed and hooked onto her braces. They never came in and so they went in and got them. It was one of the sickest things I've seen and they looked like they were not really gentle about it. I was watching and asked if they would think I was a freak if I took a picture, I knew no one would really believe what I saw. I felt so bad for her after that, she was a good sport about it and even with it being four days before Christmas. She really did need the break though to get through it.

We definately had a white Christmas which I loved so much. Travis thinks I'm nuts for enjoying the snow but hey, we're here and it's really fun. FeeBee isn't such a fan at 8am when it's potty time though but she uses the tramp for her huge pretty princess umbrella as to not get wet while she gets her business done.

Christmas morning, they are all still waking up. We didn't get started really until about nine o'clock, Isaac was so patient although getting the turkey ready was a good distraction.

We got to have Nick and Heather sleep over and spend the day with us. It was so much fun to have everyone there with us, it had been a few years. They even ended up spending a few more nights and that was a huge treat.

This is FeeBee anxiously awaiting another bit of Jerkey from Travis. She is actually guarding his stocking with the Jerkey in it, which is beautiful I might add, and stood like that for a very long time. It was so funny, she was a statue.

A special gift from her friend in California.

Santa brought C.C. a laptop.

Santa brought Isaac a giant Bionicle ship that was on his wish list. He kept saying that he thought Santa left just one more gift for him but it had to be in the garage. He was hoping for a dirt bike but we had to break the news to him that it just wasn't there.

Sab's infected lip from her bracket cutting her all up. Gross but it's all good now.

FeeBee seemed pretty happy about this gift and made herself quite at home on it.

It couldn't have been a better Christmas. Plenty of good family time, food, and laughs. I think we all enjoyed this year, maybe more than others, it was really a great couple of weeks. We were all feeling very lucky to have each other and not much else seemed too important.

Dreads!

C.C. was up for a new doo so he went for dreadlocks. It took us three tries to get them right so if anyone wants to know how to do them let me know. Not so fun especially after the third time, but since C.C. is soo handsome he pulled the look off well. I never got a picture of them done rigth but this will do. They were alot thicker the last time because we backcombed them. He left them in for about two or three weeks then he was sick of them so he's back to the Mathew McConnahy look.

Happy Birthday Nick!

We celebrated Nick's 22nd birthday this year... WITH HIM! It was great to have him back in the country this year. We went to Tepinyaki's for dinner then back to our house for an awesome cake Heather made and ice cream. Nick requested confetti cake, they will always be little kids at heart, that's great. Then we played games all night with the whole family and Jason and McKell were there of course for the wholoe party night.

Readers Theatre

The 2nd grade sang a few songs for the parents, Isaac did great and didn't get all giggly.Then they read some plays and Isaac was the king and was very animated with his parts.
He was ticked after his play because the narrator skipped half of his parts. But we redeamed the day by checking him out of school early. He thought he scored big.
It was kind of sad because the little kid cute stuff is coming to a close. :( We will enjoy it while it's still here.
